USO DE FITOTERÁPICOS PARA TRATAMENTOS DE DISTÚRBIOS GASTROINTESTINAIS EM EQUINOS
Diversos relatos acerca do uso de plantas medicinais foram identificados, ao longo da história do homem. A etnoveterinária é a ciência que estuda as práticas populares a favor da saúde e bem-estar animal, e que tem como ramo o tratamento de patologias animais a base de plantas medicinais. A adoção das plantas medicinais como tratamento abrange todo o campo animal. As plantas medicinais vêm sendo exploradas e estudadas a fim de solucionar os impactos causados nas culturas por uso de produtos químicos e o aparecimento de doenças. Apesar dos fitoterápicos terem potencial de ser mais eficientes que os medicamentos produzidos a partir da síntese química, é necessário o cuidado, pois muitas plantas, ervas tem alto grau de toxicidade. Isso elucida a necessidade de mais estudos e pesquisas na área, pois a literatura sobre o tema é escassa. Ao longo da seguinte revisão quatro estudos foram analisados O objetivo do seguinte estudo é discorrer sobre o uso de fitoterápicos em equino para tratamento de doenças gastrointestinais. Conclui-se que é de fundamental importância investir em pesquisas sobre o tema e na formação de profissionais da medicina veterinária sobre essa especialidade. Tal atitude potencializaria o uso de fitoterápicos e evitaria os efeitos coletarias e consequências da medicina alopática.

Abstract:
Several reports about the use of medicinal plants have been identified throughout the history of man. Ethnoveterinary science is the science that studies popular practices in favor of animal health and well-being, and whose branch is the treatment of animal pathologies based on medicinal plants. The adoption of medicinal plants as a treatment covers the entire animal field. Medicinal plants have been explored and studied in order to solve the impacts caused on cultures by the use of chemical products and the appearance of diseases. Although phytotherapics have the potential to be more efficient than drugs produced from chemical synthesis, caution is necessary, as many plants and herbs have a high degree of toxicity. This clarifies the need for further studies and research in the area, as the literature on the subject is scarce. During the following review, four studies were analyzed. The objective of the following study is to discuss the use of herbal medicines in horses for the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. We conclude that it is of fundamental importance to invest in research on the subject and in the training of veterinary medicine professionals on this specialty. Such an attitude would enhance the use of herbal medicines and avoid the side effects and consequences of allopathic medicine.
