UNA MIRADA DE GÉNERO AL INGRESO FEMENINO EN CARRERAS DE TECNOLOGÍAS INDUSTRIALES

Esta ponencia, fruto de un Proyecto de Innovación Docente (USACH, 2016), pretende mostrar algunas de las características sociales de los alumnos de las diferentes carreras de Tecnología que dicta la Facultad Tecnológica de la Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH). Específicamente, en este trabajo se busca mostrar la evolución que ha tenido la matrícula, en las diferentes especialidades de la carrera de Tecnólogo/Tecnología, considerando la variable de género de los y las estudiantes que ingresan a dichas carreras. Se muestra la evolución de la matrícula para cada una de las ocho especialidades de la carrera de Tecnología en relación al género de los y las estudiantes ingresados, en el período 2012 al 2018, inclusive. Se mencionan las posibles causas de este fenómeno, detectadas hasta la fecha de esta ponencia, de la menor cantidad de mujeres matriculadas, del orden de un 15,16 %, que hombres y se hacen tres propuestas, una de ellas de corte institucional, que permitan revertir, en parte, la situación descrita.

  • Abstract:

    This presentation, the result of a Teaching Innovation Project (USACH, 2016), aims to show some of the social characteristics of the students of the different Technology careers dictated by the Technological Faculty of the University of Santiago de Chile (USACH). Specifically, this work seeks to show the evolution that enrollment has had in the different specialties of the Technologist / Technology career, considering the gender variable of the students who enter said careers. The evolution of enrollment for each of the eight specialties of the Technology career is shown in relation to the gender of the admitted students, in the period 2012 to 2018, inclusive. The possible causes of this phenomenon, detected to date of this presentation, of the smaller number of registered women, of the order of 15.16%, than men, are mentioned and three proposals are made, one of them of an institutional nature, which allow to reverse, in part, the situation described.
