RELAÇÕES ÉTNICO RACIAIS NA EDUCAÇÃO: ANTECEDENTES, AVANÇOS E LIMITES DA LEI 10.639
O objetivo desse texto é discutir a Lei nº 10.639, que estabeleceu a obrigatoriedade da “História e Cultura Afro-Brasileira e Africana” na educação básica. Pretendemos apontar as transformações na educação no Brasil, na década de 1990, que contribuíram para o debate das relações étnico raciais nas escolas, discutir a importância dessa lei e suas dificuldades de implementação, além disso, promovemos uma breve discussão sobre os avanços da historiografia brasileira, a partir da década de 1980, sobre a questão negra, que deu base às novas propostas educacionais sobre a questão.

Abstract:
The main goal in this paper is the discussion of the 10.639 law, that established in Brazilian basic education would be mandatory the study of “História e Cultura Afro-Brasileira e Africana.” We intend to point at the Brazilian education transformations through the 1990s that contributed to the Ethnical-racial debate, also the importance of this law and how hard it was to implement. In addition, we also promote a debate about the advances in Brazilian historiography from the 1980s onwards, regarding the black question, which gave foundation to the new educational proposal about the issue.
