Abstract:
This paper addresses the normalization of violence in upper secondary school adolescents after the COVID-19 pandemic and highlights the role of students in visibilizing and mediating conflicts. The effects of isolation, stress and anxiety on the perception of violence as part of the school environment are analyzed in a preparatory school of the State of Mexico. The methodology used combines qualitative and quantitative approaches through surveys and interviews with students and teachers. In addition, workshops were implemented where students were trained as mediators in conflict resolution. The results show an increase in student awareness of violence and their ability to manage it peacefully. Interventions reduced violent incidents and promoted a culture of dialogue and respect. The research concludes that school mediation is a key tool to prevent violence and strengthen peaceful coexistence.
