  • Abstract:

This article analyzes the results of an applied, exploratory, and descriptive methodological research study conducted with university students from a higher education institution in Mexico. The main objective was to identify the predominant emotions that influence financial decision-making, particularly when requesting a loan. A Likert-scale survey was administered to a sample of 204 students, and the quantitative data were analyzed statistically. The findings reveal a clear difference in the emotional profile associated with this decision, highlighting the presence of negative emotions such as anxiety and nervousness when applying for credit. These results underscore the decisive role that emotions play in young people’s financial behavior and emphasize the importance of integrating emotional management into university-level financial education programs.
