LA EDUCACIÓN AMBIENTAL EN EDUCACIÓN SUPERIOR DESDE LA PERSPECTIVA DE LA PSICOLOGÍA AMBIENTAL
En la actualidad la educación ambiental que se imparte en algunas instituciones de educación superior va ganando terreno y aceptación por parte de estudiantes, docentes y autoridades educativas, ello ha permitido que otras instituciones formativas empiecen a aceptar e introducir a este tipo de educación en la formación de sus estudiantes por medio de la ambientalización de su curricula. Al transformar el proceso educativo, enriqueciéndolo con conocimientos, valores, actitudes y conductas proambientales aportadas por la psicología ambiental e interiorizándolo los estudiantes paulatinamente deconstruirán y reconstruirán su cultura y conciencia haciéndolos al egresar profesionista más completos, pertinentes y capaces para entender la crisis ambiental global que actualmente se cierne sobre todo el planeta tierra. Ya es tiempo que la educación superior en su totalidad pondere la importancia y reconozca la urgente necesidad de intervenir educativamente para aportar al mundo generaciones de profesionistas comprometidos con la salud y recuperación del medio ambiente en beneficio de ellos mismo y de toda la sociedad global.

Abstract:
Currently, environmental education offered at some institutions of higher education is gaining ground and acceptance among students, faculty, and educational authorities. This has enabled other educational institutions to begin accepting and incorporating this type of education into their students’ training by integrating environmental considerations into their curricula. By transforming the educational process enriching it with pro-environmental knowledge, values, attitudes, and behaviors contributed by environmental psicología and internalizing these, students will gradually deconstruct and reconstruct their culture and consciousness, making them, upon graduation, more well-rounded, relevant, and capable professionals who can understand the global environmental crisis currently looming over the entire planet Earth. It is high time that higher education as a whole considers the importance and recognizes the urgent need for educational intervention to provide the world with generations of professionals committed to the health and recovery of the environment for the benefit of themselves and the entire global society.
