INCIDENCIA DE ACCIDENTES EN EL HOGAR EN MENORES DE 12 AÑOS QUE INGRESAN AL SERVICIO DE URGENCIAS PEDIATRÍA DURANTE LAS VACACIONES DE VERANO 2023
Los accidentes que ocurren en el hogar son acontecimientos inesperados o no previstos que ocurren en la vivienda, en el patio, el jardín. el garaje, el acceso a pisos o escaleras, generalmente causados por el uso de aparatos mecánicos y eléctricos, la ingesta de medicamentos y productos de limpieza que cotidianamente se almacenan en casa y se dejan al alcance de los niños, causando lesiones las cuales pueden ser leves, graves o mortales. Nuestro objetivo del estudio fue conocer la incidencia de accidentes que ocurren en el hogar en niños menores de 12 años durante las vacaciones de verano de 2023. Se diseño un estudio descriptivo, cuantitativo y transversal, los datos se obtuvieron de los registros de ingreso al servicio de urgencias pediatría del Hospital Civil Juan I. Menchaca. Se seleccionaron 50 niños, el 54% masculinos y 46% femeninos, los accidentes registrados fueron; 42% traumatismo craneoencefálico, seguido por quemaduras con 22%, intoxicación por medicamentos 18%, politraumatismos 6% y obstrucción de vías respiratorias 4%. Concluimos que los accidentes en el hogar son muy frecuentes debidos al desarrollo psicomotor del niño, así como la curiosidad natural por explorar el medio ambiente, el desafiar nuevas reglas, y en la escuela por la búsqueda de la aprobación por los compañeros de grupo.

Abstract:
Accidents that occur at home are unexpected events that happen at home, yard, garden, garage or naces to floors or stairs, generally caused by mechanical on electrical apliances, the ingestion of medications and cleaning products that are noutisely stores at home and left within seach of children’s, causing injusies that can be minor, sesion or fatal. The objetive of this study was to determine the incidence of accidents occurring in the home among children under 12 years of age during the 2023 summer holidays. A descriptive, quantitative, and cross sectional study was designed. Data were obtained from the admission records of the pediatric emergency department at the Juan I. Menchaca Civil Hospital. Fifty children were selected, 54% male and 46% female. The recorded accidents were: 42% traumatic brain injury, followed by burns (22%), medication poisoning (18%), multiple traumas (6%), and airway obstruction (4%). We concluded that accidents in the home are very frequent due to children’s psychomotor development, as well as their natural curiosity to explore the environment and challenge new rules, and, at school, their search for approval from peers.
