Abstract:
This article aims to document a formative proposal focused on developing entrepreneurial competencies in the field of agribusiness through the design of investment projects within the university classroom. Based on an experience implemented at the University Center for Biological and Agricultural Sciences (CUCBA) of the University of Guadalajara, the use of Project-Based Learning (PBL) was systematized as an active methodology for training students in agricultural programs. The proposal is grounded in a qualitative and action-oriented approach that seeks to promote critical thinking, strategic planning, engagement with the rural environment, and the creation of sustainable business models. The analysis of the final outputs—nine projects developed between the 2024-B and 2025-A academic cycles in the Formulation and Evaluation of Investment Projects course—revealed progress in the development of technical, administrative, marketing, and financial skills. The results support the relevance of integrating active methodologies in higher education as a means to strengthen rural entrepreneurship, foster territorial development, and prepare professionals committed to their communities.
