APRENDIZAJE PRESENCIAL Y VIRTUAL: RETOS Y OPORTUNIDADES EN LA EDUCACIÓN CONTEMPORÁNEA
El presente estudio examina en profundidad los desafíos y oportunidades que surgen de la implementación de las modalidades de aprendizaje presencial y virtual en el contexto de la educación contemporánea. Mediante un enfoque cualitativo, basado en encuestas realizadas a docentes y estudiantes de los niveles secundario y universitario, se identificaron cinco categorías clave que permiten comprender las transformaciones actuales en los procesos educativos. Estas categorías son: la preferencia por el modelo híbrido, los desafíos asociados al acceso y uso de tecnologías, la transformación en la relación docente-estudiante, el fortalecimiento de la autonomía y la autogestión del aprendizaje, y la necesidad de impulsar la innovación pedagógica. Los hallazgos evidencian una creciente inclinación hacia modelos híbridos que combinan lo más valioso de la enseñanza presencial y virtual, permitiendo así una mayor flexibilidad y adaptabilidad. Asimismo, se destaca la importancia de la formación continua del profesorado para enfrentar los nuevos retos educativos, así como la implementación de estrategias que reduzcan la brecha digital. En conclusión, una integración flexible, planificada y contextualizada de ambas modalidades representa una oportunidad valiosa para avanzar hacia modelos educativos más inclusivos, personalizados e innovadores, capaces de responder a las necesidades y características de los estudiantes del siglo XXI.

Abstract:
This study provides an in-depth examination of the challenges and opportunities arising from the implementation of in-person and virtual learning modalities within the context of contemporary education. Using a qualitative approach, based on surveys conducted with secondary and university-level teachers and students, five key categories were identified that help to understand current transformations in educational processes. These categories include: a preference for the hybrid model, challenges related to access and use of technology, the transformation of the teacher-student relationship, the strengthening of learner autonomy and self-management, and the need to foster pedagogical innovation. The findings reveal a growing tendency toward hybrid models that combine the most valuable aspects of both in-person and virtual education, thus allowing for greater flexibility and adaptability. Additionally, the study highlights the importance of continuous teacher training to address new educational challenges, along with the implementation of strategies to reduce the digital divide. In conclusion, a flexible, well-planned, and context-aware integration of both modalities represents a valuable opportunity to move toward more inclusive, personalized, and innovative educational models capable of meeting the needs and characteristics of 21st-century students.
