UM ESTUDO SOBRE A VARIAÇÃO LEXICAL EM LÍNGUA INGLESA
O presente trabalho visa apresentar uma breve análise sobre o conceito de variação linguística, com foco na variação lexical, associada ao status de língua franca atribuído ao inglês no Componente Curricular de Língua Inglesa da Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC). Inicialmente, são apontadas algumas reflexões a respeito do conceito de variação linguística, a partir das concepções de diferentes teóricos, dentre eles, Labov (1972) e Benveniste (1976; 1989). A variação linguística pode ocorrer nos diferentes níveis linguísticos: fonético/ fonológico, morfológico, lexical, sintático, semântico e pragmático. Entretanto, neste trabalho, será analisada apenas a variação lexical, a partir de exemplos extraídos do The Harvard Dialect Survey, pesquisa desenvolvida em 2003 pelo professor Bert Vaux e colaboradores, no Departamento de Linguística da Universidade de Harvard, que criou mapas dialetais a partir de uma série de perguntas, incluindo fonética e léxico, visando explorar palavras e sons na Língua Inglesa. Em seguida, aborda-se a questão da variação a partir de uma proposta de ensino de Língua Inglesa baseada nos apontamentos do Componente Curricular de Língua Inglesa da Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC).

Abstract:
The present study aims to present a brief analysis on the concept of linguistic variation, focusing on lexical variation, associated with the status of the lingua franca (ILF) attributed to English in the English Language Curricular Component of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). Initially, some reflections and respect for the concept of linguistic variation are pointed out, from the conceptions of different theorists, among them, Labov (1972) and Benveniste (1976; 1989). Linguistic variation can occur at different linguistic levels: phonetic / phonological, morphological, lexical, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic. However, in this study, only a lexical variation will be analyzed, based on extra examples from The Harvard Dialect Survey, a research developed by Professor Bert Vaux and collaborators, at the Department of Linguistics at Harvard University in 2003, which created dialectical maps from a series of questions, including phonetics and lexico, using keywords and sounds in English. Then, it addresses a question of variation based on a proposal for teaching English, in the indicators of the English Language Curricular Component of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC).
