SATISFAÇÃO COM AS EXPERIÊNCIAS ACADÉMICAS: UM ESTUDO COM ESTUDANTES DO PRIMEIRO ANO DO ENSINO SUPERIOR ANGOLANO
A investigação sobre a satisfação académica dos estudantes tem-se destacado nos últimos anos, sendo um dos parâmetros de avaliação da qualidade do Ensino Superior. A satisfação académica dos estudantes influencia em grande medida o seu envolvimento na academia, permanência e qualidade das aprendizagens. Este estudo visa avaliar a satisfação académica dos estudantes do ensino superior angolano e explorar eventuais diferenças em função do género, idade, curso e do estatuto de estudante trabalhador. Participaram do estudo 1043 estudantes do 1º ano do Ensino Superior angolano, repartidos por 12 Instituições em sete províncias. As idades dos participantes na amostra estão compreendidas entre 19 e 64 anos de Idade, sendo a maioria deles do sexo masculino (599 do sexo masculino, 432 do sexo feminino e os restantes não identificaram o género). Os estudantes apresentaram maior pontuação na dimensão ‘satisfação com o curso’. Por outro lado, registou-se uma diferença estatisticamente significativa entre estudantes mais novos e mais velhos na dimensão ‘satisfação com a instituição’, sendo que nesta dimensão também os estudantes do género masculino apresentaram índices mais elevados de satisfação. Face aos estudantes que trabalham, os estudam que apenas estudam apresentam resultados mais elevados de satisfação na dimensão ‘satisfação com o curso’.

Abstract:
Research on students' academic satisfaction has stood out in recent years, being one of the parameters for evaluating the quality of Higher Education. Students' academic satisfaction largely influences their involvement in academia, retention and quality of learning. This study aims to evaluate the academic satisfaction of Angolan higher education students and explore possible differences depending on gender, age, course and working student status. 1043 students from the 1st year of Angolan Higher Education participated in the study, spread across 12 institutions in seven provinces. The ages of the participants in the sample range from 19 to 64 years old, with the majority of them being male (600 males, 401 females and the remainder did not identify their gender). Students scored higher in the ‘satisfaction with the course’ dimension. On the other hand, there was a statistically significant difference between younger and older students in the dimension ‘satisfaction with the institution’, with male students also showing higher levels of satisfaction in this dimension. Compared to students who work, students who only study show higher satisfaction results in the “satisfaction with the Couse” dimension.
