MODELO DE LENGUAJE GENERATIVO Y PENSAMIENTO CRÍTICO EN ESTUDIANTES DE UNA INSTITUCIÓN DE EDUCACIÓN SUPERIOR ESTATAL PERUANA

Este trabajo académico se alinea con el Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible 4, “Educación de calidad”, y tiene como propósito determinar la correlación entre el uso del Modelo de Lenguaje Generativo y el pensamiento crítico en estudiantes de una institución de educación superior estatal peruana. La investigación se desarrolló bajo un enfoque cuantitativo con diseño correlacional, permitiendo analizar la relación existente entre ambas variables. La muestra estuvo conformada por 155 estudiantes seleccionados mediante un muestreo probabilístico, a quienes se les aplicaron instrumentos orientados a medir el nivel de uso del Modelo de Lenguaje Generativo y las habilidades de pensamiento crítico. Los resultados evidencian que la mayoría de los participantes (56 %) presenta un nivel medio tanto en el uso del Modelo de Lenguaje Generativo como en el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico. Asimismo, se identificó una correlación positiva y estadísticamente significativa entre ambas variables (Rho de Spearman = 0,999), lo que indica que el uso de este tipo de herramientas tecnológicas contribuye al fortalecimiento de habilidades cognitivas superiores. Entre las habilidades potenciadas se encuentran el análisis, la evaluación de información, el razonamiento inferencial, la resolución de problemas y la autorregulación del aprendizaje. En conclusión, el estudio demuestra que el Modelo de Lenguaje Generativo posee un alto potencial como herramienta educativa para promover el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico en estudiantes universitarios. No obstante, su implementación debe estar acompañada de una adecuada orientación pedagógica por parte de los docentes, con el fin de garantizar un uso responsable y efectivo de estas tecnologías en los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje.

  • Abstract:

    This academic study is aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4, “Quality Education”, and aims to determine the correlation between the use of Generative Language Models and critical thinking among students of a Peruvian public higher education institution. The research was conducted under a quantitative approach with a correlational design, allowing the analysis of the relationship between both variables. The sample consisted of 155 students selected through probabilistic sampling, to whom instruments were applied to measure the level of use of Generative Language Models and critical thinking skills. The results show that the majority of participants (56%) present a medium level both in the use of Generative Language Models and in the development of critical thinking. Likewise, a positive and statistically significant correlation was identified between both variables (Spearman's Rho = 0.999), indicating that the use of these technological tools contributes to the strengthening of higher-order cognitive skills. Among the skills enhanced are analysis, information evaluation, inferential reasoning, problem solving, and self-regulation of learning. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that Generative Language Models have high potential as an educational tool to promote the development of critical thinking in university students. However, their implementation must be accompanied by adequate pedagogical guidance from teachers in order to ensure a responsible and effective use of these technologies in teaching and learning processes.
