EXPERIENCIAS DE ACADÉMICOS SOBRE EL PROCESO DE ENVEJECIMIENTO
Se aborda el proceso de envejecimiento en académicos en Veracruz, partiendo de sus experiencias y expectativas. Se realiza un análisis cualitativo de las preocupaciones, temores, esperanzas y anhelos que tienen los investigadores sobre su envejecimiento. Se recopilaron datos de identificación y datos sobre su entorno social, salud, trabajo y expectativas de retiro. La información recabada muestra que el proceso de envejecimiento en la academia se percibe dentro de un tiempo inmóvil, pero avanzando en un tiempo que no para y que a la larga conlleva a cambios económicos, físicos, de salud, identidad, sentido y significado.

Abstract:
The aging process in academics in Veracruz is addressed, based on their experiences and expectations. A qualitative analysis is conducted on the concerns, fears, hopes, and desires that researchers have about their aging. Identification data and information about their social environment, health, work, and retirement expectations were collected. The gathered information shows that the aging process in academia is perceived within an immobile time, but advancing in a time that does not stop and that eventually leads to economic, physical, health, identity, sense, and meaning changes.
