EM RETALHOS DE MISSIVAS, A TESSITURA DE UMA REPRESENTAÇÃO DISCURSIVA: “... VENHA VER, COMER, BEBER E RESPIRAR NORDESTE ...”
Durante 20 anos, de 1924 a 1944, Câmara Cascudo e Mário de Andrade trocaram 159 cartas, discutindo os mais variados temas pertencentes ao cenário cultural, econômico, político e literário brasileiro referentes àquele período. Neste artigo, que é um recorte da tese de doutorado defendida no ano de 2016, tem-se como objetivo analisar e interpretar como a articulação de representações discursivas (Rds) constrói uma esquematização do Nordeste como espaço constitutivo da brasilidade na correspondência de Câmara Cascudo a Mário de Andrade. Para tanto, foram selecionados trechos das cartas de Câmara com termos diretamente ligados a essa representação, tais como “Nordeste”, “Norte” – que à época ainda incluía ou se confundia com o Nordeste – e palavras do mesmo campo semântico-nocional, como “sertão”. A análise mostra que esses termos não ocorrem sistematicamente e que a representação do Nordeste é construída principalmente pela evocação de cenas, situações e locais da região. Para o detalhamento dessa construção, foram utilizadas categorias advindas da Análise Textual dos Discursos (ADAM, 2008, 2011), rearticuladas e redefinidas em (RODRIGUES, PASSEGGI, SILVA NETO, 2010) com ênfase nas operações de textualização, tais como referenciação, predicação, modificação, localização espacial e localização temporal. Para desenvolver a pesquisa, utilizamos uma metodologia de cunho analítico-interpretativista que se enquadra no campo da pesquisa qualitativa com um olhar que aponta para alguns procedimentos da pesquisa quantitativa.

Abstract:
For 20 years, from 1924 to 1944, Câmara Cascudo and Mário de Andrade exchanged 159 letters, discussing the most varied themes belonging to the Brazilian cultural, economic, political and literary scene referring to that period. This article, which is an excerpt from the doctoral thesis defended in 2016, aims to analyze and interpret how the articulation of discursive representations (Rds) constructs a schematization of the Northeast as a constitutive space of Brazilianness in the correspondence of Câmara Cascudo Mário de Andrade. To do so, excerpts from Chamber letters were selected with terms directly linked to this representation, such as "Northeast", "North" - which at the time still included or was confused with the Northeast - and words from the same semantic-notional field, such as “Sertão”. The analysis shows that these terms do not occur systematically and that the representation of the Northeast is constructed mainly by evoking scenes, situations and places in the region. To detail this construction, categories from the Textual Discourse Analysis (ADAM, 2008, 2011) were used, rearticulated and redefined in (RODRIGUES, PASSEGGI, SILVA NETO, 2010) with an emphasis on textualization operations, such as referencing, predication, modification, spatial and temporal location. To develop the research, we used an analytical-interpretative methodology that fits the field of qualitative research with a view that points to some procedures of quantitative research.
