DIREITOS TRANSGÊNEROS E DESPATOLOGIZAÇÃO: QUAL É A RELAÇÃO?
Pessoas transgêneras estão expostas a taxas alarmantes de discriminação e violência. Isto acontece em razão dos estigmas associados à não conformidade de gênero e impacta diretamente no acesso desta população a direitos fundamentais (como saúde, educação, moradia e emprego). No que diz respeito especificamente à saúde da população trans, pesquisadores, profissionais da saúde e ativistas se debruçam sobre a problemática da (des) patologização. Tendo em vista estas considerações, este artigo tem o objetivo de explicitar a relação entre a conquista de direitos e a luta pela despatologização das identidades trans. Propomos uma breve análise da recente Resolução nº 2.265 do Conselho Federal de Medicina e argumentamos que ela indica uma tomada de posição nitidamente mais despatologizante na medicina brasileira.

Abstract:
Transgender people are exposed to alarming rates of discrimination and violence. This is due to the stigmas associated with gender non-conformity and directly impacts this population's access to fundamental rights (such as health, education, housing and employment). With regard specifically to the health of trans population, researchers, health professionals and activists focus on the problem of (de) pathologization. In view of these considerations, this article aims to make explicit the relationship between the conquest of rights and the struggle for the depathologization of trans identities. We propose a brief analysis of the recent Resolution nº 2.265 of the Federal Council of Medicine and we argue that it indicates a clearly more depatologizing position in brazilian medicine.
