DE LA ENCOMIENDA A LOS CONDOMINIOS: CAMBIOS SOCIALES EN LA PROPIEDAD Y TENENCIA DE LA TIERRA DE LOS CRIADORES DE CAMÉLIDOS SUDAMERICANOS
The purpose of this paper is to account for the historical process of transformation and changes in the system of tenure, property and usufruct of the land in the high Andean areas of Arequipa since the Spanish conquest to the present. Due to the characteristics of being a multi-stage diachronic work, the sources of consultation are institutional documents with historical content, other reports by non-governmental organizations that have developed work for more than 2 decades and others that continue to operate, such as DESCOSUR, which account for the past and present history. The practice, then direct contact with this reality and sharing with its actors in different types of events, resulted in the important input that facilitated us to give shape to this document. The relevant result is translated into the explanation of the changes in the system of land tenure that come from the parcels and distributions, passing through the estates, that later because of the agrarian reforms end up as cooperarives and to conclude all as small and medium peasants who benefit under a system where private and communal property is combined with the family condominium that leads to a limitation to promote the development and technological reconversion.
