CONTINUAR BAJO EL SISTEMA DE ENSEÑANZA MODULAR EN LA UAO/UAZ O CAMBIAR HACIA OTRO MODELO EDUCATIVO
Desde 1977 la Unidad Académica de Odontología, UAZ (UAO/UAZ) tienen curricularmente considerado al Sistema de Enseñanza Modular (SEM) como la guía filosófica, pedagógica, didáctica y sociológica que ha permitido conceptualizar el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje (COPEA), modelo que en su momento resulto innovador y como respuesta para la transformación de las conciencias de docentes, alumnos y egresado hacia la realización de una praxis educativa y profesional más afín a la sociedad demandante del servicio médicoodontológico. Desafortunadamente, con el paso del tiempo, la jubilación de personal docente histórico, la contratación de nuevo personal sin conocimiento y capacitación sobre este modelo educativo para su comprensión y aplicación en el quehacer docente, ha llevado a la tergiversión inconsciente de su aplicación, quedando hoy en día este planteamiento educativo casi exclusivamente en el papel, en el discurso y en la mente de unos cuantos docentes históricos, ocasionando que en esencia el proceso educativo que se aplica en la unidad académica tenga más vista de tradicional que de innovador. Esta situación lleva al planteamiento nodular que da vida a este trabajo respecto a que si es pertinente continuar sosteniendo al SEM como guía o cambiar a un nuevo planteamiento educativo.

Abstract:
Since 1977 the Academic Unit of Dentistry, UAZ (UAO/UAZ) has curricularly considered the Modular Teaching System (SEM) as the philosophical, pedagogical, didactic and sociological guide that has allowed conceptualizing the teaching-learning process (COPEA), a model that at the time was innovative and as a response to the transformation of the consciences of teachers, students and graduates towards the realization of an educational and professional praxis more akin to the society demanding the medical-dental service. Unfortunately, with the passage of time, the retirement of historical teaching staff, the hiring of new staff without knowledge and training on this educational model for its understanding and application in teaching, has led to the unconscious distortion of its application, leaving today this educational approach almost exclusively on paper, in the discourse and in the minds of a few historical teachers, causing that in essence the educational process applied in the academic unit has more traditional than innovative view. This situation leads to the nodule approach that gives life to this work regarding whether it is pertinent to continue sustaining the SEM as a guide or to change to a new educational approach.
