ACTITUDES DE LOS ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS HACIA EL MEDIO AMBIENTE. UNA EXPERIENCIA INNOVADORA EN EL CAMPO DE LAS CIENCIAS AMBIENTALES
El siguiente capítulo recoge un estudio sobre las actitudes de los universitarios hacia el Medio Ambiente en la Universidad Pablo de Olavide de Sevilla. Entendiendo éstas como una disposición previa y preparatoria de las respuestas ante estímulos sociales; reconociéndolas parcialmente estables, susceptibles de aprendizaje y formación y, generalmente duraderas. La finalidad de este trabajo ha sido conocer las actitudes del alumnado que comienzan los estudios de Ciencias Ambientales y ver cómo influyen en esta población, aportándonos conceptos, actitudes y comportamientos proambientales. Entendiendo estas actitudes como una disposición previa y preparatoria de las respuestas ante estímulos sociales; siendo relativamente estables, susceptibles de formación y cambio, a la vez que son relativamente duraderas. Antes de comenzar la docencia, se llevó a cabo un estudio inicial en el marco de la metodología descriptiva, con el objeto de recoger información sobre las creencias que sobre las temáticas ambientales tienen los estudiantes. Para ello, se recurrió a la técnica de encuesta, utilizando el Cuestionario de Aptitudes Socioeducativas Medioambientales (CASEM). Los resultados indican que la mayoría del alumnado posee conceptos previos sobre medio ambiente y consideran que es necesaria una buena Educación Ambiental, para mejorar los problemas ambientales que les rodean. Con ello constatamos que los factores claves de las actitudes se convierten en elementos fundamentales para el cambio de éstas.

Abstract:
The following chapter includes a study on the attitudes of university students towards the Environment at the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville. Understanding these as a preliminary and preparatory provision for responses to social stimuli; recognizing them partially stable, capable of learning and training and generally durable. The purpose of this work has been to know the attitudes of the students who begin the studies of Environmental Sciences and to see how they influence this population, providing us with pro-environmental concepts, attitudes and behaviors. Understanding these attitudes as a preliminary and preparatory disposition of responses to social stimuli; being relatively stable, susceptible to formation and change, while being relatively durable. Before starting teaching, an initial study was carried out within the framework of descriptive methodology, in order to collect information on the beliefs that students have on environmental issues. To do this, the survey technique was used, using the Socio-educational Environmental Aptitudes Questionnaire (CASEM). The results indicate that most of the students have previous concepts about the environment and consider that a good Environmental Education is necessary to improve the environmental problems that surround them. With this we verify that the key factors of attitudes become fundamental elements for their change.
