ACTITUDES AMBIENTALES EN ESTUDIANTES DEL NIVEL MEDIO SUPERIOR AL NOROESTE DE TAMAULIPAS
Objetivo: Determinar las actitudes ambientales en estudiantes del nivel medio superior al noroeste de Tamaulipas. Metodología: El instrumento utilizado fue “Cuestionario de Actitudes Ambientales (CAAM). Resultados: Los resultados evidenciaron un predominio de actitudes medio conscientes hacia el medio ambiente en los estudiantes evaluados. Según la edad, los grupos de 16, 17 y 18 años presentaron principalmente niveles medio conscientes, mientras que el único participante de 19 años mostró un nivel consciente ambientalmente. En relación con el género, tanto hombres como mujeres reflejaron predominancia de actitudes medio conscientes, aunque el grupo masculino mostró ligeramente mayores niveles de conciencia ambiental. Asimismo, en las especialidades de Ingles e Informática predominó el nivel medio consciente, destacando Informática por presentar una mayor proporción de estudiantes conscientes ambientalmente. Conclusiones: Se concluye que los estudiantes presentan predominantemente actitudes medio conscientes hacia el medio ambiente, independientemente de la edad, género y especialidad. No obstante, el género masculino y la especialidad de Informática evidenciaron una mayor tendencia hacia niveles de conciencia ambiental más altos. Estos resultados resaltan la necesidad de fortalecer estrategias de educación ambiental en la población estudiantil.

Abstract:
Objective: To determine the environmental attitudes of high school students in northwestern Tamaulipas. Methodology: The instrument used was the Environmental Attitudes Questionnaire (CAAM). Results: The results showed a predominance of moderately conscious attitudes toward the environment among the students evaluated. By age, the 16, 17, and 18-year-old groups primarily presented moderately conscious levels, while the single 19-year-old participant showed a highly conscious level of environmental awareness. Regarding gender, both men and women reflected a predominance of moderately conscious attitudes, although the male group showed slightly higher levels of environmental awareness. Likewise, the moderately conscious level predominated in the English and Computer Science majors, with Computer Science standing out for having a higher proportion of environmentally conscious students. Conclusions: It is concluded that students predominantly present moderately conscious attitudes toward the environment, regardless of age, gender, and major. However, the male gender and the Computer Science major showed a greater tendency toward higher levels of environmental awareness. These results highlight the need to strengthen environmental education strategies among the student population.
